Be the best. No negativity, no weakness, no acquiescence to fear or disaster, no errors of ignorance, no evasion from reality.

What I mean to say is, most of your photographs have low contrast and monotone look. Do you create that when you develop the film or in photoshop... Also I noticed in the pictures of your uncle, the quality is very grainy, presumably a result of a high ISO film... what equipment do you use?

I use a Pentax P30 with usually... 200-400 ISO. I have some experience with filters, but i'm not really a prolific snapper, I shoot things fairly sporadically but with my heart.

In answer to your question, I became aware of Vincent Gallo through John Frusciante, you are probably aware that Gallo shot Frusciante's video for 'Going Inside' and also the sleeve of 'Shadows Collide With People'. I subsequently watched Buffalo 66 and then Brown Bunny.

I do admire his style, especially those red boots in '66, and the ending for that film was just sublime (Heart of the Sunrise? I'm coming....) even if it didn't fit the rest of the film... I'm not quite sure what to think of the guy himself however. Appearances in an emo band's video disturbed me slightly (the one where he shoots everyone?)

Anyways, Love and Peace.
Nick
